The Story Behind Maths with Andre

After more than 25 years in education as a Head of Maths in both the state and independent sectors - as well as a Deputy Head overseeing both assessment and pastoral care—I made the decision to return to University to study Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. It was a bold step, but one that reflected a lifelong love of learning and a desire to keep growing and challenging myself.

Maths with Andre was born from that same passion.

Throughout my career, I’ve seen how Maths can either build confidence or chip away at it. Too often, students come to believe they’re “not a maths person”—but I’ve always believed there’s no such thing.

With the right approach, every child can not only understand Maths but actually enjoy it.

That’s the heart of Maths with Andre: helping as many young people as possible to see the beauty and logic of mathematics.

I use puzzles, tricks, and real-world connections to spark curiosity and build understanding. More than anything, I focus on helping students feel confident and empowered—because when they enjoy what they’re learning, real progress happens.
